Hi there! My name is Amanda Cantú and I was born and raised in San Antonio. I created SA2College because I am passionate about making college knowledge and resources accessible to high school students, supporters, and educators from under-resourced communities in San Antonio.

 

As a low-income Latina and first-generation college student from the Southeast side, I faced many obstacles related to getting to and through college. Despite the odds, I graduated with honors from Trinity University and am now pursuing a Master of Science in Social Work from UT Austin.

 

I was only able to surpass the educational expectations that society had for me because I had a community of supporters, educators, and cheerleaders who served as a pillar of strength during difficult times.

SA2College is my way of giving back to the community that has shaped me into the person who I am today.
