It is important that you take your time and fill out your official college application to the best of your ability. Incorrectly filling out a section may lead to problems with the college reviewing your application or other obstacles that may interfere with being accepted. Applying for financial assistance is another critical step in becoming college-ready. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) opens on October 1st and is used to determine your eligibility for financial aid from the government, institutions you are applying to, and external scholarships. If you are a non-citizen, you can fill out the Texas Application for Student Financial Aid (TASFA), which is also used to determine your eligibility for financial aid.
